Two works by the Swiss born artist David Bielander are now part of the prestigious Museum of Arts & Design's permanent collection!
The Crown necklace from Bielander's Cardboard series- a trompe l'oeil play on value and hierarchies, wherein gold has been formed and manipulated into works perfectly mimicking corrugated cardboard, was chosen for acquisition and is currently exhibited in the exhibition MAD Collects.
The Cardboard Crown, which debuted in Bielander's 2015 exhibition DIY at Ornamentum, is number 3 of a very limited edition of up to only 5 (+1 AP) hand-made works. Examples have recently been exhibited in Museum exhibitions in Switzerland, Italy and Denmark.
Hall 3, Messe Basel (Basel Convention Center)
The Swiss Design Awards 2017 exhibition is open from 13 – 18 June 2017, daily from 10 am – 7 pm, Sunday 6 pm

Germany, 2016 - 18th International Silver Triennial, worldwide competition.
Jury statement: The expectation placed on silver and its handling has been cleverly
overthrown and at the same time creates an appeal in the objects Crucifix
and Paper Bag (Wine), which, in turn, poses many a question. The materiality of
paper has been overridden through the utilization of silver. It is a subtle play on
traditional conceptions and values, in the material aspect as well as with regard
to the impact of the two objects. The design, form, structure, and technical execution
are all successful and convincing down to the smallest details.
The Paper Bag is available exclusively at Ornamentum and will be exhibited at Design Miami, 2016
